Association for Project Management, the chartered body for the project profession, is delighted to officially invite nominations for its fourth Volunteer Achievement Awards, which recognise and reward the invaluable contribution the organisation’s volunteers make to its success.

The awards, which span seven categories including ‘APM Volunteer of the Year Award’ and ‘APM Volunteer Innovation Award’, celebrate the incredible contribution of volunteers in supporting APM’s work and its global community of project professionals. Volunteers’ time and skill plays a crucial role in APM’s mission to advance the art, science, theory and practice of project management.

The nomination process is now open, which means APM members can put forward APM volunteers to be recognised for their hard work supporting their profession.

Jackie Martin, APM’s director of education and lifelong learning, said: “Volunteering is at the heart of our project management community at APM. As the only chartered body for the project profession, we produce a great deal of content that both supports the profession to achieve project excellence, while also growing skills and knowledge among younger and more experienced project professionals alike. So much of this work is done with the support of our volunteers that it's wonderful when we have this opportunity to celebrate their hard work. Therefore, I would warmly invite all of our members to consider nominating an APM volunteer who has done so much to support other project professionals, as well as the wider community.”

Winners will be selected by APM’s Volunteers’ Steering Group. Any APM member can nominate any APM volunteer who has achieved success in one or more of the following categories:

  • APM Volunteer of the Year
  • APM Volunteer Event of the Year
  • APM Volunteer Innovation Award
  • APM Branch of the Year
  • APM Specific Interest Group (SIG) of the Year
  • APM Education Volunteer of the Year
  • APM Special Achievement

Now’s the time to submit your nominations

If you’re a member of APM, you can nominate an APM volunteer for an award here.

Nomination should cover the volunteer’s achievements in no more than 500 words.

The deadline for all submission is 17:00 BST on 27 September 2021.

Award winners will be announced at the APM Virtual Volunteers’ Forum in November 2021 and our seven winners will each receive a sustainably sourced APM trophy. Every winner will also be featured on APM’s website and social media channels to share their achievement.

If you have any questions on the nominations process then please contact Sarah Slater, APM volunteering manager.

If you’re interested in volunteering, we’d love to hear from you. Although some volunteering roles are reserved for APM members, many are open to project professionals who aren’t members of the organisation. Project practitioners from all backgrounds and with different levels and areas of experience are welcome. Contact APM here. to share a bit about yourself and to discover volunteering opportunities that would be a good fit.
