Our purpose? We are a vibrant community that facilitates knowledge sharing and thought leadership for the built environment sector. Our goal is to connect project professionals, support people in their early-career and learn from experts.

Additionally, we provide guidance to external stakeholders and communities to improve project performance.

What do we do? The built environment includes all man-made structures, from commercial and residential buildings to hospitals, schools, roads and airports—essentially any construction or infrastructure project.

Our mission is to strengthen the link between the built environment sector and the project management community, recognising its unique requirements and nuances.

We share essential knowledge and insights on the latest developments, such as integrating building models with schedules and cost plans, adopting emerging technologies like AI and unpacking the implications of new legislation.

What we offer our followers? Entering the industry can be challenging, so we help individuals find pathways into the sector, collaborating with universities to develop new courses, and offering advice to professionals at every stage of their careers.

We also conduct and share high-quality research relevant to the built environment and discuss real-life case studies, both regional and global.

Furthermore, we facilitate cross-professional engagement through joint activities with industry bodies and associations, including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Project Management Institute.

How to get involved? Our volunteers organise webinars, events, publications, blogs and many other activities. We invite you to join us and become part of our dynamic network.

"We have an incredibly diverse group and one of our key initiatives is to showcase their experiences," says network lead Dave Corbin. "This helps people understand and take advantage of the range of career opportunities within the [built environment] sector."

We are a new vibrant online community that facilitates knowledge sharing and produces thought leadership content specific to the global Built Environment sector.

Its purpose is to create a project management community within the Built Environment sector, recognising the specific requirements and nuances that exist, helping established project professionals to learn from industry peers as well as supporting early career professionals to develop their skills in readiness for taking on a new role.

The network provides thought leadership to external communities, stakeholders and associations to help drive improved project performance within the sector. This is achieved through sharing knowledge on:

  • specific sector developments,

  • the adoption of emerging technologies, and

  • the implications of new legislation.

We do this through outputs and activities such as webinars, events, publications, blogs and collaboration with other industry associations.
