Session: New Colombian Offshore Patrol Vessel Programme

In the ever-evolving world of shipbuilding projects, the fusion of traditional and novel success factors propels the industry forward and sets higher standards for innovation.

This is the case of the “New Colombian Offshore Patrol Vessel” programme, a series of four multi-role ships that combine traditional missions of sea control and combat of transnational crime with scientific capacities to undertake maritime research.

This project involved a series of traditional success factors, which involved the application of lessons learned from previous projects consolidated in a robust knowledge management system, a substantial investment in human and material resources, and detailed planning of scope, schedule, and cost.
