Session | A Creativity Strategy Modelled from Walt Disney: Imagineering

Walt Disney developed a process now known as ‘Imagineering’ to assess problems from the viewpoint of The Dreamer, The Realist and The Critic. Each in turn takes an ‘in-character’ assessment of the matter in hand, and then all views are integrated into a hopefully more honest reality. It’s a bit like HAZIDs or Day-In-The-Life and it’s used all over the world where issues need to be tackled quickly and simply with a fresh approach that leverages the project team’s own resources with a minimum of overhead and training.

It also helps in identifying side issues which, while they do need tackling, should not divert effort from dealing with the core problem to be solved. Imagineering can be applied to any sector or project/programme environment and is fully scalable.

An option to enhance this presentation is to play in a filmed interview with Robert Dilts, a founder of NLP and the person who developed the Imagineering technique into the problem-solving method it is today.
