New Initiatives in Project Management Education

Babcock International identified a need to improve their project management capability within their organisation.  Kathryn Jones, the Director of Project Management Cavendish Nuclear approached the University of Plymouth to discuss the possibility of launching the Project Management Degree Apprenticeship (PMDA).  The University of Plymouth have worked in partnership with Babcock International to develop, design and deliver the PMDA.  The programme launched in September 2021 and is going from strength to strength.  This session will describe the journey from inception to launch and beyond.

Kathryn Jones CEng, ChPP FAPM is a Senior Project Leader and Chartered Project Professional with 20 yrs experience of delivering in customer focussed environments including Major infrastructure EPC projects and programmes across Nuclear and Process industries.  In addition, she has carried out functional roles and lead transformation programmes; setting up PMO’s focused on establishing the Project delivery ways of working, Governance & Assurance and PM Capability Development
