Mark Heelis - Programme Manager, Satellite Applications Catapult 

Mark a Programme Manager specialising in delivering complex transformational programmes and projects. His experience spans more than two decades across private, public and non-profit sectors and has included constructing of flood defences to keep communities safe; monitoring key UK infrastructure and analysing the impacts of our changing world; leading regulatory digital transformation to improve our environment; and the development of space capabilities to support innovative products and services. 

Mark moved into the Space sector in 2021 and is currently managing the delivery of the Beyond Earth Mission at the Satellite Applications Catapult which aims to grow the UK in-orbit economy by working with industry, Government and Academia. This includes a range of projects related to In- Orbit Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing, such as docking, refuelling, manufacturing and debris removal. 

Mark is currently the Deputy Lead for the APM International Space Sector Interest Network.
