Wed 11 June 🕐 12:40-13:10 | Discovery Theatre | Hall 3 Changing the narrative: Helping business understand the value of the project professionFor more than a year, APM has been researching business leaders’ knowledge and understanding of the project profession. What we’ve discovered is that our profession is too often misperceived. Projects, programmes and portfolios are important enablers of business success, but this is not always recognised in the C-suite. We’re working to change the narrative among this audience, to help leaders see the true value of effective project management. This session will explain the research we’ve done, what we found and the action we’re taking. We’re also keen to hear your experiences with people in senior leadership roles, as we continue to evolve our narrative messaging into the future. 🞇 Matthew Johnson - Head of Communications, APM |

Thu 12 June 🕐 13:20-14:00 | Discovery Theatre | Hall 3 Delivering social Impact through education outreach for a better futureDid you know that there are around 11 million corporate volunteer days available each year from UK employers? But the reality, according to a recent article in the Financial Times, is that only 15% of UK based employees are using their volunteer days. Engaging with young people to showcase careers and skills can deliver an incredible return on investment and social impact. This session will take you through how education engagement benefits young people, the volunteer and contributes to ESG goals and how to get involved. The session is suitable for anyone interested in individual education outreach, developing a corporate programme or wanting to measure and report social value for ESG reporting. 🞇 Clare Hutchinson - Head of Skills & Partner Engagement, STEM Learning |
