APM People Interest Network Presents: A People-centric approach to sustainability: embedding the top six (people) UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into projects.

Sustainability is not only environmental - it’s about people. This session focuses on six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with direct relevance to people: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health & Wellbeing, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities.

Teri will outline how these goals can be integrated into project planning and delivery across different contexts. Using practical examples, she will demonstrate approaches for embedding people-focused sustainability into project lifecycles, engaging teams and stakeholders meaningfully, and linking project activity with wider social impact.

The session will also explore methods for measuring and evidencing contributions to social sustainability, aligned with ESG and social value principles.

Key takeaways for attendees are:

  • A clear understanding of six people-focused SDGs and their project relevance
  • Practical strategies for integration across planning and delivery
  • Approaches for measuring and communicating social impact
  • Insights into how inclusive, people-led practices enhances leadership and supports wellbeing, competence, and long-term sustainability

This dot-joining session connects policy ambition with actionable and practical delivery for socially responsible project outcomes.
