Projects for a
Better Future
Our flagship conference covers the issues that matter to the project profession. Be part of the conversation.
APM’s celebrated flagship conference returns to Coventry on 11-12 June 2025. This year we’ll be discussing the urgent need for the project profession to respond to critical sustainability challenges, including the climate crisis, resource scarcity, and social inequity.
We’ll be exploring what Projects for a Better Future means through the lens of people, innovation and practice, and discovering what future trends may impact not only the types of projects that are delivered, but the way they are delivered. Expect two inspiring days of learning, networking and growth.

Conference themes
People: What knowledge, skills and competencies will be needed to ensure a sustainable workforce?
Project management sustainability practices won’t adapt without people driving change. But to manage this the workforce itself should be sustainable. Here we'll tackle two aspects: how practitioners can make positive change in this area now, and what skills are needed to fortify the profession for the future.
Innovation: What’s new and what’s needed for sustainable project delivery?
Innovation is crucial to ensure project outcomes and practices are sustainable. This theme will explore impactful ideas and tried-and-tested methods for improving sustainability in project management and delivering projects with sustainable outcomes.
Practice: How can project teams and organisations meet the need for more impactful action on climate change?
Creating and embedding sustainability strategies into the project life cycle is vital to ensure projects – and the project profession – is ready for future challenges. Here we discuss both project practice and broader organisational strategy with practical ideas about how to implement change in this area.
