This is a 2 day event for everyone undertaking risk management. We are offering a facilitated workshop on day 1 followed by an interactive conference on day 2. You can attend just one of the days or both to enrich yourself.

Everyone undertakes risk management and at work we have formal processes to follow. We employ soft skills but those skills are usually self-taught and we tend to repeat those skills, including our mistakes, with small variations based upon latest experience rather than best practice.
Building on the very successful highly interactive format of our previous conference, this year’s conference begins with a day of workshops and practical exercises. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to participate and practise the interpersonal skills which will be the subject of the day. We will focus on those soft skills which you use whilst undertaking risk management.
Whether you are a novice or experienced facilitator, there will be many opportunities to facilitate sessions. During the practical sessions you will be able to direct sessions so that you can stretch your existing skills. This experiential, safe environment will enable you to develop your abilities to create an effective culture for managing risk within your own organisation. Although groups will be mixed up often to enable maximum networking during the day, the discussions will iteratively build on earlier work. Output from the previous conference provides a good starting point for the day. However, this foundation material will be easily assimilated by participants who have not attended previous conferences without the need to preparation. The event is facilitated by Julia Godwin, a highly experienced, professional facilitator.
Day 2 is our usual conference and will have presentations and workshops on different aspects of soft skills for people undertaking risk management. Sessions will include:
- David Hillson, Risk Doctor Ltd
- Ranjit Sidhu, ChangeQuest Ltd
- John Hepworth, Hepworth HR
- Simon Reynolds (Mott MacDonald) PM for the Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower
- Workshops on communicating skills, creating right culture for risk management
