Awards Rules of Entry
The following rules must be adhered to when entering the APM Project Management awards, if you are unsure about any of the following conditions please email awards@apm.org.uk
- All projects should be submitted with an APM Awards Cover Sheet. This downloadable from the APM web site. This cover sheet includes a declaration of suitable involvement in the entry by the applicant.
- The same project or programme and its material may not be submitted as the basis for entry into more than one award category in the year.
- Applicants decide the category entered. Selection of an inappropriate category may result in a reduced score or complete rejection of the entry submitted.
- All entries (save those for PMotY & YPMotY) must cover work that is completed or at the end of a major phase in order that there is evidence of outcome/ benefits.
- Entries must not exceed the stated word count for that category. The word count excludes headings, tables or anything in the appendix. Those entries that overrun the size requirements will be subject to a mark deduction. The size maximums are:
- Academic Awards – Full dissertation
- Practioner Awards Stage 1: 2,500 word
- Practioner Awards Stage 2: 9,000
- Social Awards: 2,000 words
- All work submitted must be that of the entrant or permission from the project sponsor or manager must be granted.
- Stage 1 (and stage 2 where appropriate) entry deadlines must be adhered to, late submissions may be subject to mark deduction.
- Entries will only be accepted when submitted in the English language.
- By submitting any materials, you grant APM permission to utilise them in promotions and other activities relating to the APM Project Management Awards, unless specified otherwise by the entrant.
- The APM reserves the right to accept or reject entries, and / or not make an award, as circumstances dictate.
- Award submissions must be by email, CD or USB memory flash drive. The maximum submission size is 5MB.
- APM does not accept DVD’s, audio or video submissions or supporting materials.
- All finalists must submit visual material and company logos (if appropriate) for use at the awards dinner and other supporting activities.
- The judging panel will consist of invited, experienced and expert APM members.
- The judges’ decision in all matters is final. Other than the official feedback provided to each non winning entry, no correspondence concerning their decision will be entered into.
- The project/programme described must either be finished and the end of the project not more than 12 months from the time of application, or at least three defined project/programme phases (or a majority of the phases) are finished by the time of application.
- There is no limit to the number of different project based entries within a category, yet the same project/programme cannot be submitted as the basis to more than one category.
- All submissions are made at the expense of the applicants. No submission will be returned once the judging process is complete. Submissions received by APM will not be passed on to any third party without the express consent of the entrant. All submissions will be securely destroyed by APM within a period of twelve months of the winners being announced.
- The content of all submissions remains, at all times, the copyright of the entrant but APM may wish to reproduce some relevant content for the purpose of promotional materials such as: the APM Winners’ Brochure, winners’ case-studies, PR or other. If an entrant does not wish to give automatic permission for material to be reproduced, without prior discussion, this must be noted on the Entrants’ Cover Sheet.
